Fillings are used to treat dental cavities after the decayed part of the tooth is removed. The fillings may be made of gold, porcelain, amalgam, or composite materials. There are differences that include cost and durability.
Post-Operative Instructions Following – Fillings
For an hour following your visit, do not chew. Wait until numbness subsides before eating.
Do not bite your lips, cheeks, or scrape your gums.
Children should be watched carefully to make sure they don’t do this. It will damage soft tissues and result in pain.
Sensitivity to cold and heat, as well as any soreness, should go away in a few days.
If cavity was deep, sensitivity could last for a few days to a few months; however, it should subside over time.
Continue your normal hygiene plan to ensure that your fillings last for a long time.
