What is Professional Teeth Whitening?
Professional teeth whitening is the fastest, safest way to brighten your smile. Over time, teeth naturally pick up stains from coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, and everyday wear. Over-the-counter strips and toothpastes can help with surface stains, but they can’t match the results of a professional-grade treatment supervised by a dentist.
At Staley Dental Arts, we offer three whitening options to fit your lifestyle and goals. Our in-office Boost whitening delivers dramatic results in about an hour. KöR whitening is our most powerful option, designed to tackle deep, stubborn stains that other methods can’t touch. And for patients who prefer to whiten on their own schedule, we offer custom-fitted take-home trays with professional-strength gel.
Benefits of Professional Teeth Whitening
- Brighter Results | Professional treatments deliver results far beyond what over-the-counter products can achieve.
- Fast & Convenient | In-office Boost whitening takes about an hour. Walk in on your lunch break, walk out with a noticeably brighter smile.
- Multiple Options | Choose from in-office Boost, KöR deep whitening, or custom take-home trays depending on your goals and schedule.
- Safe & Supervised | Every treatment is overseen by Dr. Jensen, so your enamel and gums are protected throughout the process.
- Tackles Deep Stains | KöR whitening is designed for stubborn discoloration from tetracycline, fluorosis, and aging that other methods can't fix.
- Boosts Your Confidence | A whiter smile makes a noticeable difference in how you look and feel. It's one of the simplest ways to refresh your entire appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to the most common questions about dental care, treatment options, and what to expect before your appointment.
Does teeth whitening hurt?
Some patients experience temporary sensitivity during or after treatment, but it's usually mild and goes away within a day or two. We take precautions to protect your gums throughout the process, and Dr. Jensen can recommend a sensitivity toothpaste to use beforehand if needed.
How long do whitening results last?
Results can last anywhere from six months to a few years depending on your diet and habits. Coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco will cause stains to return faster. Touch-up treatments with your custom take-home trays are an easy way to maintain your results over time.
What's the difference between Boost and KöR whitening?
Boost is our in-office treatment that delivers great results in about an hour. KöR is a more intensive system designed for deep, stubborn stains like tetracycline discoloration that other methods can't fix. Dr. Jensen will recommend the best option based on your type of staining.
Will whitening work on crowns or veneers?
No. Whitening only works on natural tooth enamel. Crowns, veneers, bonding, and fillings won't change color with whitening treatment. If you're planning other cosmetic work, it's usually best to whiten first so restorations can be matched to your new shade.
Is professional whitening better than over-the-counter products?
Significantly. Professional treatments use stronger, clinical-grade whitening agents and are supervised by Dr. Jensen to protect your enamel and gums. Over-the-counter strips can help with light surface stains, but they can't match the speed or depth of results you get in our office.
Does insurance cover teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not typically covered by dental insurance. We offer financing through CareCredit and HFD to help make treatment affordable. Ask our team about current pricing when you schedule your appointment.
