Porcelain Veneers
in Kansas City

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-crafted shells that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth to change their appearance. They can correct chips, cracks, stubborn stains, uneven edges, gaps, and teeth that are slightly crooked or undersized. The result is a natural-looking, uniform smile that’s designed specifically for your face.

Unlike composite bonding, which is applied freehand in a single visit, porcelain veneers are fabricated in a dental lab for a more precise fit, stronger material, and better stain resistance. Each veneer is custom shaped and shaded to match or enhance your natural teeth, and porcelain reflects light the same way real enamel does, which is what gives veneers their lifelike appearance.

At Staley Dental Arts, Dr. Jensen takes a detailed, hands-on approach to veneer design. She works closely with you to understand your goals, preps your teeth conservatively to preserve as much natural structure as possible, and makes sure the final result looks like a better version of your smile, not someone else’s.

Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

Veneers vs. Other Cosmetic Options

Veneers aren’t the only way to improve your smile, and they’re not always the best fit for every situation. For minor chips or small gaps, dental bonding offers a faster, more affordable fix. For discoloration alone, professional whitening may be all you need. And if alignment is the main concern, Invisalign can straighten your teeth without altering their surface. Dr. Jensen will help you understand what veneers can do that other treatments can’t, and vice versa. The goal is always the option that gives you the best result for your specific situation. COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to the most common questions about dental care, treatment options, and what to expect before your appointment.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last 10 to 15 years or longer. Brushing, flossing, regular checkups, and avoiding habits like biting your nails or chewing ice will help them last as long as possible. Dr. Jensen checks your veneers at every exam.

Does getting veneers hurt?

The prep work involves removing a thin layer of enamel, which is done under local anesthetic so you won't feel a thing. Some patients experience mild sensitivity for a few days after placement, but it fades quickly. Most people say the process was easier than they expected.

How many veneers do I need?

It depends on your goals. Some patients only need one or two to fix a specific tooth. Others choose six to eight veneers to transform their entire smile line. Dr. Jensen will recommend the right number based on what you want to achieve during your consultation.

Can veneers fix crooked teeth?

Veneers can correct the appearance of mildly crooked or uneven teeth by changing their shape and alignment visually. For more significant alignment issues, Invisalign may be a better first step. Some patients combine both treatments for the best possible result.

What's the difference between veneers and bonding?

Bonding uses composite resin applied directly to the tooth in one visit. Veneers are porcelain shells custom-made in a lab over two visits. Veneers are stronger, last longer, and resist staining better, but bonding is faster and more affordable for minor fixes.

Does insurance cover porcelain veneers?

Veneers are considered a cosmetic procedure and are not typically covered by dental insurance. We offer financing through CareCredit and HFD with 0% interest options to help make treatment affordable. Our team can walk you through pricing during your consultation.

This was a new patient appointment. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming. The hygienist did a thorough workup and history. The cleaning was great. After the cleaning Dr Jensen examined my teeth. I thought they did a really good job. 👍. On the second appointment the technician and Doctor prepared a tooth for a crown. The tooth had had a large filling, then a cavity developed as well as cracks. They explained each step, took pics of the tooth and then showed them to me. They made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. I was pleased with the process and the Doctor and her technician. Well done.

My permanent crown was put on Tuesday. It is a good fit and the bite is great. Very happy.

Dr. Natalie is absolutely AMAZING!!! She was so gentle with my little one and made today go so smooth. She made this process so easy for this momma. Kiddo came out in great spirits and said he loves going to the dentist. That's saying alot from a kiddo who had two extractions, two caps and some filling work done. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of my little one. Everyone at this office is amazing, from start to finish! Shandolyn at the front desk is top tier! Corrina you are this mommy's hero for holding his hands to make him feel safe, you are fantastic! 10/10 would recommend!!! Thank you all!

Clean office, friendly staff and knowledgeable dentist. Found myself needing somewhat of an emergency appointment and Staley Dental got me in within 2 hours. Their staff was super friendly and made me feel right at home. Doctor Natalie was super kind and knew exactly how to liberate me from my pain. Within 30 minutes I was back outside, less a wisdom tooth, but much wiser for knowing I have found my dentist for routine care. I highly recommend them! Thank you so much!
